Claude is made by Anthropic, a US company. Connecting it is optional. When you ask a question, Claude receives the numbers and page screenshots it needs to answer, never IP addresses or typed form input.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Claude to use Heat?
No. Every heatmap, scroll map and recording is in your dashboard. Claude is optional and reads the same data. Other apps that support MCP connectors can connect the same way.
What does Claude get to see?
Only what it asks Heat for while answering you: heatmap numbers, page screenshots with the heatmap drawn on top, most clicked elements, traffic sources and recording details such as duration, device and country. It doesn't play recordings back, but it can tell you which ones to watch. It never sees IP addresses or typed form input, because Heat doesn't store them.
Where is my data stored?
On servers inside the European Union. Heat doesn't replicate it to, process it in, or make it accessible from the United States. If you connect Claude, the answers you ask for go to Anthropic as part of your conversation.
Are session recordings GDPR-compliant?
They are built to meet GDPR and ePrivacy requirements: recordings mask form inputs and sensitive text in the browser before anything is sent, no IP addresses are stored, and a data processing agreement is available on request.
How long does setup take?
A few minutes: add the URLs you want to track and one script tag. Your first heatmap fills within a minute of your next visitor. Connecting Claude takes one more minute.
